Northeastern Resources for Entrepreneurs

Accelerating Ambition

All startups accepted to make use of Startup Space @ Silicon Valley are also invited to connect with the many resources that Northeastern makes available to university-affiliated entrepreneurs.

Venture Mentoring Network. Since 2014, the Network has connected hundreds of practiced mentors and industry experts to early-stage ventures and entrepreneurs. Mentors guide rising entrepreneurs through informal discussions focused on a venture’s achievements, objectives, and timely, identifiable business challenges. These sessions help determine an enterprise’s goals and best next steps, plus open the door to fruitful new connections on the path to successful commercialization.

Women Who Empower Initiative. Through the Women Who Empower initiative, a network of both established and aspiring leaders come together to build lasting and impactful connections. The group supports members through events, masterclasses, mentorship programs, and other opportunities.

Alumni Relations. The Office of Alumni Relations manages a wide range of services under the innovation ecosystem umbrella, including those listed below.

Center for Research Innovation. CRI helps translate research and innovation from the University into tangible solutions through licenses, spinouts and collaborations. Their dedicated experts help teams bring their discoveries to the commercial market.

Huntington Angels Network. HAN is a student-run organization whose mission is to grow the Northeastern venture community by connecting vetted and investment-ready start-ups to a global investor network of angel investors and venture capital firms.

IDEA. This student-led venture accelerator fosters the development of entrepreneurs in the Northeastern community through the educational experience of developing a business from concept to launch. The program is open to current students but also to alumni and other University-affiliated entrepreneurs.

Scout. This design lab comprised of College of Arts, Media and Design students can assist with projects like product packaging and logo creation.

Generate Build Studio. Each semester, this student-led studio provides free product development support to Northeastern ventures. Clients are chosen by application.

IP Law Clinic. A student-led clinic in the School of Law, the IP CO-LAB provides free intellectual property legal services to entrepreneurs and innovators at Northeastern.

NUMA. The Northeastern University Marketing Association (NUMA) takes on NU-affiliated clients for marketing consulting, market research, and social media strategy.

Northeastern Library. For current students, faculty, and staff, the Library offers resources curated for entrepreneurs.
